18th Annual Hockey Night in Detroit on Saturday, April 18 is Cancelled

As challenges arise with the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), our commitment to our community and the programs we support is more important than ever. In compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, we have decided to CANCEL our upcoming Annual Hockey Night in Detroit, scheduled for Saturday, April 18.

We will have more information and updates coming soon on how you can still support us during this difficult time. In this moment of unprecedented challenge, we appreciate your contributions even more.

Devils on Ice,
Angels for Charity

In existence since 1974, the Grosse Pointe Old Devils Charity continues to strive to expand its programs and offerings to the community. This year we have pledged to fund 20 youth skaters through the East Side Youth Sports Foundation. These are kids who would otherwise not have a chance to be part of a team, build character through athletics, or learn how to play the great sport of hockey. We will also continue to support the Center for Success, a free afterschool program that seeks to raise students reading scores up to grade level with individualized lessons and reading mentors. The Center for Success currently supports 50 students and engages over 50 mentors weekly. Finally, the GPOD will remain committed to supporting the Detroit Swims program at the Boll Family YMCA. Our funding allows 100 students to participate and learn water safety skills, as well as build confidence.
